Get to know me!
I was raised on a farm in Salt Lake County, where I was taught that hard work and integrity were extremely important. Community service was how my family lived. My Father was the Mayor of Bluffdale for 19 years and I had several roles including volunteer firefighter, animal control, teaching the south end of the valley CERT classes and even being Smokey the bear for one of our town parades. I worked for the State of Utah for 30 years before I retired where I wrote the emergency response plan for all the water and wastewater companies in Salt Lake County, was in management for many years at the largest water district in Utah and supervised twenty-five full time and temporary employees. Responsible for multimillion-dollar budget and all government contract bidding for our department. After my retirement I became a licensed Utah Realtor for six years and worked with my wife until she retired. We moved to Mesquite in 2018 and absolutely love it here, we plan to enjoy Mesquite through the rest of our retirement years.
Being with family and friends. I have been happily married to my wife Lisa for over 20 years where we helped each other raise our blended family, my two youngest daughters Jessica and Ashley and her two boys Zach and Jason. We love traveling and playing in couples golf tournaments with our friends. Favorite sports would include watching college football (GO UTES), March Madness and professional Golf.
I have always enjoyed a good rainstorm.
I am currently on the Mesquite Master Plan Committee and sit on the Board of the Mesquite Community Education Foundation. Learning about the wants and needs from both committees I can see areas that need to come together. Being a City Council member will allow me the opportunity to help work towards the growing issues of a small town that is growing fast. Let’s make Mesquite a great place to live, work and vacation.
